I floated the genesis of this idea as a note a couple weeks ago; I am happy with how it turned out, though sad for the lovely woman who inspired it. What do you think?

Jenga player 
carefully constructing 
emotions stacking
sides all even
spaces exact
flawless wooden bars
a princess’ complexion -
or prison for her trauma 

Composed 
as a pageant queen
fearing her make up will 
run down her banner
leaving stains of humanity
for all to see
so 
tiptoe barefoot
keep your distance 
avoidance is the angel’s guardian 
just a caress of air is 
enough to topple
her statue 
heaving pile of rubble
struggle to rebuild 
stack the Jenga tiles fast
