Alone bedraggled wandering the shoulder of the highway to nowhere while everyone raced past me as if anything actually mattered as if time were measured in todays not the yesteryears in which I was trapped She pulled over in her shiny blue Subaru waiting for me to catch up to where exhaust mingled with clouds, racing dreams to the sky Unlocking the passenger door with a bit of a flare biscuits, tea, and a fresh notebook all laid out for me her shy smile a sliver of new moon wrapped in twilight sky eyes twin stars overlooking all of my past and future a galaxy of freckles play hide and seek with her wrinkles wisdom and youth blending fearlessly across her face the tea is sweet, warm, soothing - a mother’s touch biscuits melt like songs on my lonely tongue Opening the journal, handing me the blank pages virgin snow before the wolves track through the fields virgin snow before the angels tag the children, their laughter drifting through the downy woods The pen, black and smooth, hovers, a hummingbird waiting to trap nectar from the hollyhock and phlox waiting to spill nectar, drop pollen from its tiny beak planting a new garden where I thought no words would grow again

Blank pages waiting to be filled with glorious words. Spilling over into our hearts. Beautiful Boo!
