My toes squish and slosh trying to hold ground in the grainy wet sand of today While my gaze is transfixed on sepia toned images of yesterday flickering along the ever nearing horizon wave after wave of restless memory slams the shore berating it for not holding on to me wave after wave of grief pulls me that much farther out to sea berating me for not holding on to it my heels press desperately toes pointing north like a compass trying to dig my way back to the wispy dry shore The undertow dragging me away from the sirens of tomorrow The undertow salt water tears finally welcome me to the home I crave
Great work Boo!
I need some squishing and sloshing. You made me long for it.
